La. Medicaid expands dental coverage for adults with disabilities

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) — Louisiana Medicaid has expanded their comprehensive dental care to grownups ages 21 and up with mental or developmental disabilities who are enrolled in the New Opportunities Waiver, Residential Options Waiver or the Supports Waiver.

Extra than 12,000 people will have access to the new dental coverage beginning July 1.

The new coverage features:

  • oral and maxillofacial surgical procedure
  • orthodontics

Governor John Bel Edwards signed the Act 450 monthly bill into legislation in Louisiana that designed the new coverage achievable.
