Bikini-clad Home and Away star Emily Weir is caught in a ‘scary’ storm

Clouds fell over Summer Bay on Monday when stormy winds blew apart the break area at Palm Beach where the cast and crew of Home and Away were having lunch.

Emily Weir, who plays Mackenzie Booth in the Channel Seven soap, was caught in the middle of it all while wearing nothing but a bikini and a bathrobe.

The actress, 30, was seen prancing about the wreckage after the strong winds had passed in a video posted to the official Home and Away Instagram page.

The caption read: ‘So a mini tornado hit Summer Bay today. Stay dry everyone!’

Footage from the video showed chairs, tables and a marquee being flipped over and sent flying towards the ocean as powerful winds whipped through the area.

In the aftermath, Weir and her co-stars Kyle Shilling (Mali Hudson) and Luke Van Os (Xander Delaney) inspected the damage.

Van Os, who was filming the catastrophe, joked: ‘Hey, do you guys know what time lunch is?’

Weir jumped around the damage with wet hair and a billowing robe before sitting amongst the destroyed area and responding: ‘I don’t know. I’m just waiting patiently.’

Shilling, who sported a pair of swim trunks and a large black shirt, picked through the rubble to find cutlery and a marmalade packet.

Weir landed her breakthrough role as restaurateur Mackenzie on Home and Away in 2019. Prior to that, she appeared in TV series The Sleepover Club in 2003.

Weir described her casting on Home and Away as like a dream come true in an interview with Stuff.

‘It was like winning the Lotto for myself and for all my extended family members,’ she said.

‘My family still watches Home and Away. They call it Homie. When Homie is on… everything just shuts down. You are not allowed to make calls or anything.’
